I believe you are meant to thrive in all areas of your life (personal, professional and social). I’ve known healthy relationships to be a key factor in the success of our professional and personal lives.  You can literally see the ripple effect relationships have on our lives, whether that be a positive or negative effect.

Healthy relationships tend to positively impact our emotional well-being, self-esteem, physical health, career and productivity, personal growth, happiness and life satisfaction.

On the contrary, unhealthy relationships cause us emotional distress, low self-esteem, increased stress, mental and physical health concerns, isolation, stifled personal growth, codependency and difficulty focusing on important tasks.

The reason that relationships have such an impact on our lives is because we, as humans, crave connection, security and belonging, which relationships are supposed to provide.

Now, hopefully you already have healthy, fulfilling relationships. If not, this is where I come in.

If you’re:

… having trouble communicating with your partner, leading to misunderstandings, unmet expectations, and unnecessary conflicts.

… feeling like you should be experiencing more love, intimacy or joyful moments within your relationship.

… feeling unfilled or are having trouble connecting with your partner.

… feeling lonely at times when you’re not even alone.

… wondering if you and your partner are even compatible.

…feeling unappreciated by your partner or even taken for granted.

…giving too much of yourself in your relationship and have little to nothing left for yourself.

…overwhelmed by external stressors which seep into your relationship, negatively affecting the dynamic.

…realizing you’ve lost sight of who you are outside of your relationship.

I’d love to help!

Three Pillars of My Coaching Practice

The Pillars of my Coaching Practice have been inspired by important life lessons I’ve learned personally and professionally over the last 20+ years.

Lesson One: You can’t change other people. They have to recognize their need for change as well as have their own personal and powerful reasons (their “Why”) for wanting to change. However, you can oftentimes influence change in another person by first adopting healthy changes yourself, which allows them to witness the benefits of adapting these same changes.  For example, practicing healthy communication skills while interacting with a partner who struggles to communicate well can inspire and teach them to do the same, thus reducing conflict over time. This is why my coaching practice focuses on working 1:1 with one party in the relationship, not both parties.

Lesson Two: Fixing your happiness or self-worth on an external source, such as a partner, professional promotion, or material item, is a dangerous game. This is because external sources are fleeting. People are imperfect as well as, at times, self-serving, and they let us down.  Relationships lose their luster after a while. Once we achieve the promotion or material item we’ve been wanting, we always find ourselves chasing the next “thing.”  We must turn inward and develop healthy habits and practices which help us to feel grounded, satisfied, and whole all on our own, allowing our loved ones and personal or professional accomplishments to simply add to our happiness.  My coaching practice provides the tools and guidance to help you do just that, bringing peace, love, and balance to your life, no matter what is going on around you.

Lesson Three: True Connection With Others Begins With a Deep and Honest Connection To Ourselves.  There’s something magical that happens when we show up in our relationships as the healed version of ourselves. We no longer have baggage to trip over because we understand and have made peace with our past. We’re grounded and able to better regulate our emotions, allowing us to reduce conflict and effectively communicate with our loved ones.  We’re also self-aware and understand how we can both negatively and positively impact our loved ones.  This frees up a lot of time and energy that used to be spent on conflict, apathy, or drama, to be used instead on simply loving on the important people in our lives.  That’s why my coaching practice encourages doing the work to embrace your past, make peace with your true self, and learn to understand and appreciate all of you, in order to heal what has been holding you back in your relationships.

Interested in Getting Started with a single session, coaching package, or 90 Day Coaching Intensive? Here’s how it works:

First: You schedule a Discovery Call. This is a complimentary 30 minute call where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story, ask any questions you have about me and my coaching methods, and determine whether or not I am a good fit to guide you on your journey or navigate your current challenge. This Discovery call is required prior to purchasing or booking any service to ensure your goal can be met within the time allowed.

Second: We review your goals and then decide what level of support would be best, based on your specific goals, desired level of support, and realistic timeline. Once payment is received we schedule our first official coaching session.

Third: You begin your journey and I am there to guide you every step of the way.  We meet either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the level of accountability you desire. I curate vital information for you and use various tools and exercises to facilitate self-growth and expedite progress towards your goals. And, of course, I provide the accountability and support between sessions to keep you on track.

FAQs

How do I know if you’ll be the right coach for me?

I not only want to make sure you feel I’m the best coach for you but I also want to make sure you’re the right client for me. That’s why I make it a requirement to meet via video for a complimentary 30 minute Discovery Call, prior to any services being booked or money exchanged. I want my clients to get the best results and I recognize that in order to make that happen they not only have to feel comfortable working with me but also appreciate the methods and techniques I coach on.

If you want to get a flavor for the type of methods and techniques I coach on prior to booking a Discovery Call, take some time to read through some of my blog posts. You can also review the Three Pillars of My Coaching Practice and Areas of Focus, noted above on this page. The About Me section of my website can also help you to get to know me a little better.

What are your business hours?

Currently my business hours for 1:1 coaching are in the evenings between 6pm-9pm CST. I’m a mom of two littles whom I stay home with during the day and I need my husband to come home and take over watching them, to give you the uninterrupted, focused attention you deserve.

Are you flexible if I need to reschedule?

I understand all too well that life happens and will work with you to reschedule if something comes up. However, my hours are my hours and, since I have so few to offer, there may be weeks where I have very little wiggle room to reschedule, forcing us to look into the following week. I’d just ask that you give me as much notice as possible, should you need to reschedule.

Do we have to adhere to a schedule?

Kind of. You don’t have to schedule for the same day and same time each week (or bi-weekly, whatever you chose) but all single sessions or coaching packages must be used within 6 months of purchase to help me keep an accurate client count and ensure I’m not overbooking mysef.

For the 90 Day Coaching Intensive, those 1:1 sessions must be used weekly and within the 90 days. Therefore, if you cannot meet each week you forgo the session.

Do you have a payment plan?

Payment for all coaching sessions and 90 Day Intensive is due in full, prior to services being scheduled. This demonstrates client commitment to the process.  Keep in mind that coaching is a service where you need to be fully invested to get the best results. The coaching industry has noted that clients are generally more motivated and committed to “working the program” to get results if they invest up front, because they don’t want to waste their investment.

You are able to, however, explore payment options on your own. For example, at the time this page is being written, PayPal has a credit option for purchases over $149 with zero interest if paid off within 6 months.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

There are several key difference between coaching and therapy

CoachingTherapy
Relationship coaching is typically future-focused and goal-oriented. Coaches help individuals or couples work towards specific goals, like improving communication, resolving conflicts, or building a stronger partnership. The focus is often on practical strategies and personal growth.Therapy, particularly in the context of relationship therapy (like couples counseling), often looks at the past to understand emotional wounds, patterns, and deeper psychological issues that might be affecting the relationship. It aims to heal underlying issues and improve emotional connection.
Coaches are generally not trained to treat mental health disorders. They focus more on helping clients take actionable steps to improve their relationship by setting and achieving goals, enhancing communication, or navigating challenges.Therapists are licensed mental health professionals (e.g., psychologists, counselors, marriage and family therapists). They are trained to address a wide range of mental health issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, or complex relational dynamics that could require deeper psychological intervention.
Coaching tends to be more directive and structured. Coaches often provide specific exercises, strategies, and tools to help clients work toward improvement, focusing on strengths and creating a vision for a better relationship.Therapy tends to be more exploratory and often less structured. Therapists may delve into past experiences and help clients understand their emotional and psychological patterns, working to uncover deeper emotional issues that affect their relationships.
Coaching typically involves a shorter-term commitment. It’s focused on helping clients make changes or improvements over a specific period (e.g., a few months).Therapy can sometimes be a longer-term process, especially if it involves addressing deeper emotional issues or trauma. It’s not uncommon for therapy to last for an extended period, depending on the complexity of the issues being worked through.
Coaches use techniques like setting goals, creating action plans, role-playing, and enhancing communication skills. They often encourage clients to take practical steps and hold them accountable for progress.Therapists may use various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, or emotion-focused therapy. The tools are more rooted in psychological frameworks and are often tailored to address underlying mental health concerns.
If the goal is to improve specific aspects of a relationship, like communication, intimacy, or conflict resolution, and the individuals are not dealing with significant emotional or psychological distress, coaching might be the best choice. If there are deeper emotional issues, past traumas, mental health struggles, or significant relational problems that require professional intervention, therapy with a licensed therapist is typically more appropriate.
